UFID RFID applications are very effective in monitoring the movement of vehicles in toll gates or any entry or exit gates. Under this technology, the position of any rfid enabled vehicle can be tracked in both moving and stationery positions.
Generally, operation of this technology takes place by means of two devices namely readers and tags. Tags or labels have sensors and have a unique identification number. These tags or labels are fixed with cars or vehicles. In the boom barriers rfid readers are attached. These readers can identify any rfid vehicle from almost a distance of 5 to 6 metres even when the vehicle is moving at the speed of 20 km/hr.
Whenever any rfid enabled vehicle approaches a boom barrier, the reader fed with it will match the unique identification number with its available data. Only when the identity code matches, the boom barrier allows the vehicle to pass. This automatic boom barrier thus helps to stop the entry of any unknown vehicle thereby ensuring safety and security.
